Prayer for my friends......

Lord, all I hear is pain, suffering
Agony and tears
Life seems so complicated
It doesn’t seem fair.

I need Your help,
I need Your guidance
This cannot be done on my own
Lord I lift my friends to you

They seem to have an endless amount of sorrow
No happiness or joy
They need You Lord
Please stay by their side

All I can do is pray
Prayer seems so futile
Yet Lord, I know that You will save them
Save them from their pain

I lift these friends to You
I will pray night and day
But You are the only Savior
You will keep them in Your arms

Keep my friends under Your wings
Help them and guide them
Spare them from suffering
And bring them to the light

Man, that speaks to me deep. This weekend I've been encountering different cousins and friends that are treading through rough waters. Some losing faith, or maybe just getting tired of the fight. Some are backing down and are not wanting to let God move in their lives. Resistance and rebellion is what I'm seeing, and I know all I can do is pray and encourage them. God will move. God will answer prayers. He is the God of love and faithfulness.

I think and ponder upon what it says in James 5:15-16:

"And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective."

Thanks for that prayer, Justin. It was very encouraging to me.

Wow Quin, thank you SO much for that passage, I needed to read it. And Justin, words can't describe how appreciative I am for you to write this prayer.

It's hard watching those we love suffer. And it's extremely painful watching those we love turn away from their ultimate Hope and Stronghold. It's in those times where our friends have to learn that we can't rely on companionship for our own security, we have to trust in Him alone. And in those chasms where we can't come up with the right words to say, or the right things to do, it's the gentle and unfading passage of Proverbs 17:17 that says, "A friend loves at all times..."

and Justin, He hears our prayers, and He'll be ready to embrace us when we run into His arms. And when we walk astray, we have to run to Him to turn us around, pick us up, and undo what we've become.

I'll be praying for each of you =), em

@Annie - Sorry to hear that feel the same burden I do. But, I feel it's simply the way life is. And, you're very welcome.

@Quin - Wow, what you said was SO true. I am putting that verse in my heart. It's something that I have got to remember. I know I can't do it on my own. And I know that in a way my prayers are useless. Yet, God will answer the prayer of the faithful. May God make us all faithful prayer warriors for Him.

Emily! Thank you for commenting. I see that we both commented at the exact same time. How funny. Anyway, what you said is true. And thank you for that exhortation. I have been struggling a lot. With um... 6 of my friends... I think... falling in some way or another since Sunday it can get hard. But, it doesn't matter if God's on my side. I must keep praying for them, and He will hear my cry.

one reason i think that prayer DOES matter, is because it shows our faith in God. like we've all been writing, God does answer our prayers.... that's what it is all about... God wants to see that we believe He can and will answer our prayers.

on a different note, this blog is obviously making a difference in a our lives... it is a source of encouragement and blessing for me. thanks, man.
